I'm starting to get more precise with my trolling for WALLEYE's and was wondering what line counter reel was the best bang for the buck?

Your best bet is to spend the $$ and buy the Diawa SG27LC reels. There drags are excellent and they are very accurate. For less $$, the Okuma's aren't too bad, but I burned one out last summer on a big salmon. If it's used walleye, the Okuma would be fine.

i agree, the diawa is a very good reel, that is what i would get....i have used them and been with guides that swear by them. I havent heard anyhing bad about them...only good...and i would consider their price great for the quality.

I can't begin to estimate the numbers of trout and salmon that were intent on ruining my Diawa line counters -- but, they have all failed to do so. Get the Diawa, you won't have to replace them for years.

Diawa's are the best!
Okuma's are a "good buy for the money", if you don't abuse them (i.e. fish them as a charter captain does or give them a steady diet of salmon/steelhead).
Be sure to get the DX's.

I would have to throw another vote for the Diawa 27LC's.

Great reels, especially for the money.
Durable, precise, and easy to use.
Great tool to add to your arsenal.

I saw 2 diawa GLC 27 and 2 47's on e-bay the other day that could be bought at once . The 27's were 165$ for 2 and the 47's were 185$ for 2. That seemed like a good buy they were saying it would be 5$ for shipping. Also if you know someone that works at a sporting goods store that gives there employees a discount you may be able to get $ off. They are about 95$ plus tax at most places for the 27's. I been looking for myself.

If you are in the midwest, FleetFarm has lowered their regular price to $88 (Diawa 27LC).

I now have 6 SG27LC reels. No other reel compares. Next time an MWC or PWT tournament is around, go see what the pro's use. Diawa's as far as the eye can see.

DIAWA'S ARE BY FAR THE BEST! I USED THE OKUMA'S AND ALSO BOUGHT A CABELA'S DIGITAL AND BOTH DRAGS SUCK COMPARED TO THE DIAWA'S! I'LL NEVER BUY EITHER AGAIN. I'M STICKING WITH DIAWA.
