difficult perch bite today...we went everywhere and only caught one nice perch...~10 little ones ....whitey hooked a nice steelhead on a large golden roach and it broke his line at the boat...none of the salmon fishermen had a hit while i was listening which was most of the time...i tried the mouth of ditch...whitey hit the west wall...i had a tip that the east end of the sunken reef off #2 and tried it early and later...i tried deep off the doughnut..whitey hit it shallow...i tried the hole we hit really nice off dunes acres and not even a hit...there is bait fish everywhere but no steelhead seen jumping...they gotta be here soon...the salmon fishermen reported nice marks (carp?..salmon?) but not one hit i gotta work sat and then go to a wedding...will steelhead fish sunday...steve

Stevie Stevie Stevie, still chasing the little perchy. You are just going to have to give in and ditch that 4" red/white bobber with that snoopy rod you use. Sorry to hear the perch are not cooperating for you. Try Pine lake in LaPorte. Two friends brought home 52 9-10 inch perch this past Tuesday fishing minnows/jigs over the weedline just inside the tube connecting Pine and Stone. They also had 5 large crappies.

wow...just talked to whitey who is getting some perch...asked about steelhead fishing and there are a lot of boats fishing the mouth...he is not there to see if they are catchin anything...i gotta work...and sat i gotta work!...and sat afternoon i gotta go to a wedding!!...but sunday morning i will be out there for a few good moments...think i will steelhead fish sunday....off next w/e...and they gave me one out of five weekends off in july!!!...and i own the place..steve
