Any word on when Lowrance is going to ship the speed and temp sensor/wheel for the new X-15?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Scott.

I too, am waiting for the speed and temp option, although after last weekend, Im not sure why. The temp is already there in the transducer, and the speed is in the gps. Not sure how accurate the speed with the gps system is. I only have two days on the water with it, but it appears to be a heck of a unit. I did have a few problems tho, Number one, my unit didnt recognize the map I built, and upon calling Lowrance, I found out that the unit needed a download off the internet to work properly. I found this kind of unsettling, considering what I had just payed for it, and it wouldnt work out of the box. Turns out, it was not a big deal, and the unit read the map fine after that. You will need the LCX15 download Version 1.5 depending on the date of manufacture. The other problem that I had, was that the screen was awesome for the first half day, the proceeded to get darker and darker, and no matter what setting I tried, I couldnt get rid of the blackness in the screen. It even blacked out in the simulator mode. I wondered if it was too cold for it to operate properly, but on Friday, it got almost to fifty. I found someone on the water that had one also, and asked him, and he didnt have any answers for me, except to try system reset. I did that, and it worked fine the rest of the day. Not sure what caused it, but I found out what fixed it. Hope this doesnt happen every day.

Called them last week. Said the speed/temp would be out the end of March.

I was looking at one of these units in a sporting goods store, and the chart speed seems extremely slow for such a new unit.I tried to increase chart speed and it was already at max. They seem extremely slow especially compared to the pinpoint.

The chart speed in simulator mode is purposely moving slower. Actual on the water readings will be displayed at a faster rate. The engineers thought this would be a good idea to prevent the recording from having to start over so many times. But it is causing alot of confusion!
