I saw a downrigger accessory that would bring a downrigger ball right up and over to the side of the boat automatically once the ball it got clear of the water. It was on an electric unit.I'd like to get that kind of outfit, as it seems like it'd be easier, but can't remember what kind of outfit it was.
Anybody else know what it might have been? where I could find it? website?Retailer?

The product you are looking for it the OR-6 weight retriever from Off Shore Tackle. Use the Icon from the home page of WC, or www.offshoretackle.com.

I went to that website but didn't see the or-6.
I thought with the or-6 you had to pull on a line or something to bring the ball to the side of the boat, something like a reto ease by cannon.
If that's it, then it's not what I was talking about.
The thing I saw AUTOMATICALLY brought the ball in to the side of the boat, without touching anything after you flick the up switch on the downrigger.

Walker downriggers offers a similar device for use on their long arm riggers. I'm sure they have a website somewhere.

Does it bring the ball in automatically? and will it only work on the Walker downrigger? Does anybody know the website?

Yes, it brings the bomb up and in automatically -- all you need do is shut down the switch (make sure clutch is properly adjusted, or you'll pop off the terminal tackle & bomb). It works fine on Walkers, I don't know about others.
I'm sure you can find a website by doing some surfing.

I use Walker downriggers with the automatic weight retrievers.
I have them rigged with the Walker short stop, so they shut off at the side of the boat, without any stess whatever on terminal snap or cable..Because the arm is the same dia. all the way out I doubt any other kind of downriggers could be fitted with it.
The website for Walker is www.walkerdownriggers.com
Hope this is helpful

Thanks, I checked the website.
It's not on there but I phoned Walker and you're right they do have one called AWR that must be what I saw.
