Hi all, going to Mpls. on Thurs thru Sun. visiting the inlaws, taking the boat. It will be the last trip of the summer before the son goes to college. Would appreciate any advice and or names of lakes within 30 to 60 minutes of the cities. Won't have as much time to fish as we would like, would be nice to catch a few eyes, while we are there. Will be coming from SD first time fishing in Minn. Thanks in advance!

Hi again,
If you don't have a lot of time, your choice is probably based on distance from you. Get a good map. Mille Lacs is about 2 hours from Bloomington, Waconia is about 30 minutes. All of the lakes have good walleyes, so I can't decide for you. BTW, there are many more lakes than have been mentioned, including some pretty fair ones right in the twin cities. Good Luck!

Mississippi, Mississippi and Mississippi.
You will catch more and bigger fish on the river than you will in all the area lakes.
You can launch at Hidden Falls Regional Park, Watergate Marina, Lilydale Park or under the 494 bridge in So St Paul.
