We fished the area just east of the tip of point Pelee on Thursday. Started as soon as we hit 42 feet and ran 40 jets at 120' and 0 dipseys at 130' at 2.5 setting. Nonstop action on both bows and eyes. We trolled toward the Wheatley Harbor for about 4 miles and back and were done. Three limits of both, with some real nice fish, a couple of bows near 10# and a couple of eyes at 4#. Real good eaters. Anything gold and orange for both eyes and bows. Not many junk fish if we kept the speed between 2.8 and 3.2 mph on gps. The minute we slowed down below this we were getting those great BaaBaa fish. Somebody needs to figure out a good use for them. Also there were some commerical boats dropping nets more toward the harbor.

Tried a new cooking way for the bows and it was great. I take all the ribs out of them. Mix one part soy sauce and two parts olive oil and two to three teaspoons of brown sugar. Put in a shaker and shake well as it will become a little thick. Base the filets on both sides and let it set for about and hour. Put the filets on a fish screen and cook on a "hot" charcoal grill for about 4 minutes on each side or until crisp brown ( not burnt) on each side.

What a great fishery Lake Erie is and will continue to be if we all do our part to keep it that way.

Great job! I was hoping to make it sunday or monday but not sure if weather will permit a run across the lake. I picked up some cedar planks at Home Depot last night and intend to try some steelhead on those. there was a nice recipe included (for salmon). My buddy swears by the plank method.
