W.C. readers, Unfortunately, early this morning,I lost a great friend and walleye fishing partner. His name, Richard "Chip" Chipelewski. I feel blessed to have known him as he was truly one of "the good guys". He fought this dreaded disease since he was diagnosed with it since last September and through all his pain and agony, he never quit. Please take a moment today and count all your blessings. Something like this really hits home. All my prayers to Chip's wife Sandy and his 3 children.

I attended a funeral this past Sat. for a friend with almost a identical history of the disease. You are not alone in the feelings of losing someone close to you, it hits hard straight in your heart. They may not be here physically but they are still around us daily.NEVER take anything for granted.

My condolences go out to you and all of this fine gentleman's friends and family. It seems like the truly great and genuinely good people are outdoorsmen/women. Although I don't know you or your friend I'm truly sorry for the loss. Remember though nothing or no one can take away the wonderful memories. God Bless.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-01 AT 06:45PM (CST)[p]My condolances to all his friends and family. As a friend, make an effort to be there for the family in a couple of weeks or a couple of months. They are in shock now, and have alot of contact with friends and things they have to do. In a couple of weeks the pain and loss are going to hit the family the hardest, but friends aren't always there to share it. Invite them to dinner, take them fishing or just drop by to talk. It will help both of you. Pat K

My deepest condolences. I just lost my mother, who first introduced me to fishing and who shared her knowledge of the outdoors with me all her life. She was 73 and was still salmon fishing with me in September and chopping firewood in November. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December and passed away a week ago. I hope when my time comes I can go with half as much dignity and positive attitude.

"Chip" was a competitor of the highest caliber. His infectious smile will be sorely missed this year on the MWT circuit. May God bless his family, and take care of them at this sad time.

This is one of the sons of "Chip". He was a great father and is truly missed. Thanks for everyone nice words! This is the first time I have seen this thread and appreciate the condolences.

I was wondering if anyone has any electronic pictures of my father? Thanks!
