I love Fusion. It performs like Fireline but costs less. Have used the 12lb (like 8lb mono) and it is great for use on baitcasting gear for trolling crankbaits. I have also used the 24lb (like 12 lb mono) when bass fishing with spinnerbaits. It casts very well and I have yet to have a breakoff.

Haven't used Fusion. I didn't like Super Mono. It was almost as unruley on my spinning reel as Vanish, not quite but almost. Although, I hear the new stuff (last years) is better than the stuff (2 years ago) I had.

Rick,my partner switched to fusion last year and had nothing but problems with it. Had several break-offs and lots of abrasion on the line. He switched back to Green Trilene 10 lb. and jokes about buying spools of fusion for anyone that crosses him. Can't even get him to try fireline now because he's been burned twice. First by the spiderwire years ago and now the fusion. He can flat out fish the Mono though, so I got to let him use what works for him. You should find what works for you and stay with it. The grass ain't always greener and every mousetrap ain't better than the last one invented. Try a spool of something new but don't be afraid to pitch it and go back to a proven line if they were better for your applications and style. That being said, I use fireline and highly recommend it. I mostly use it for trolling and have several reels that are going on 5yrs. of use. Price is not a factor when it lasts this long.
(These are my opinions and your results may vary.)

Hi Rick

I've been using fusion for 4 years now to tie spinners harnesses.
It's very tough and never breaks even with pike. It also has much better knot characteristics than fireline. I also use it for drop back fishing when ancored.

stay away from super mono
fusion is great for the price
will not go back to fireline
cannot understand the post stating the breakoffs.....
heres what happened last year to me....
walleye trolling on the red was dead so went for cats...
rigged up the spare rod for my buddy forgetting that the line was in need of changing.... was frayed from running on a unlined rod tip guide... not the lines fault... since repaired... anyways
he hooked into a 30lb cat in heavy current.... 45 minutes to land and the fish was always sounding on a frayed section of line that i swear was down to 1 thread bearing on a unlined rod tip.... landed the fish 37.5 inches....
maybe somebody spilt mosquito spray on his line.....
good stuff
