Hey fellas,
I'll be headin out to Erie and will be fishin the Sandbar area! Was just wondering how the fall bite has been progressing?? Would like to get my dad on some fish and was wondering if anyone had any numbers where I could start the hunt. Thanks alot for all your help in advance. Thanks alot!! I will post when I get back.
Thanks,
Cdemeyes
Call Den at 1 888 855 9032, he'll get you off on the right foot.
If you don't call Den, stay west of the bar north 28 - 36 / west 26 - 30 ( that's a big area, but there's lots of fish around).

If you pay attention and LISTEN on 79 or 80 you will get the details you need most days. All of the info may not be on one transmission from one guy but listen and you will figure things out. The CATCHING has been outstanding for the last week but the fish are moving around each day by a few miles. Anywhere from 27N 27W to 30N 30W is probally a decent starting location for you. Dipseys / Jets with spoons at around 2.2 to 2.6 MPH. Don't be afraid to run the bigger spoons and also some of the silver or painted surfaces have been working along with the coppers. Some big fish going on cranks too.
Good Luck and bring a big cooler...

Cranks and harnesses off inline holographic weights have been working for bigger fish (some). Dipsys and spoons have been the numbers program when the weather cooperates. Same areas north but we have been working about 4 bumps west of the coordinates mentioned here.
I'll only be there Sat PM & Sun AM, I don't talk alot on the radio. Brother Rich is booked for Thur - Mon, his boat name is Shifless, he talks less than me. Pooh will be out there so the radio will be going. As someone else said ...just listen, and the program will be spelled out for you.

We were fishing last weekend out of Vermillion and had two twenty fish days (Sat. was a blow day)It was spoons during the day 90% of the fish came on a gold Stinger with a 20 jet at 120 back.late in the day the spoons would shut down, and a mooneye R.R. was the hot lure to have in the water .the center of the bite for us was 34/26.If you need more info call Den at the Outpost.Paul

I would fish the 35/25 I will be out on sunday morning in this area, will monitor 79 I will share programs and numbers if you get a hold of me. i was doing good on 20 jets 150-170 running spoons, green or silver back worked best, there are alot of bigger fish showing up in closer around the 27/28,29/30 and a few miles around this area, if you want bigger fish I would try this area and pull deep cranks off boards. I plan on trying both programs.

Caught 19 eyes Wed morning between 8:30 and 11:30 and kept 12. 27-29N and 29-30W. Dipseys and spoons took most of the fish with 3 setting dipsey 100 to 105 back being the best setup at 2.5 MPH. Silver Streak Juniors and Minis both took fish. Juniors took more than the Minis. (SS Juniors are about the same size as the Stinger Scorpions and the Minis are about the same size as the regular size Stinger spoons.) Blueberry Muffin was best but anything that had the bright yellow chartruse was good. Also took a few bigger (just under Fish Ohio size 28 inch) fish on some experimental color Reef Runners. Prism based and also white based color patterns 135 to 160 back big boards. Wind is howling pretty good on Thursday but should lay for the weekend. These fish have been moving around a few miles every day.

I'll be in Vermilion Saturday and Sunday. This wind may cause that same area you were fishing to be dirty for Saturday unless things calm down. Have a lot of boats been fishing the 29/29 are have they been out a little further as well. Two weeks ago we caught them at 34/25 but the fish have really been moving lately.

Sorry for the bad news Bill has given up on fishing, last time I talked to him he was going to a school that he found on the back of a matchbook cover. The good news is that his wife loves to fish and Anita has a boat with little or no hours on it.Paul
