My wife wants to do the family thing this year for the summer vacation, outdoors, the kids (3years and 1year old), and all the joy that it will bring. I fish up in LBDN a lot, but she wants something more family friendly with a beach outside the cabin door for the kids. She is trying to locate a medium price resort for a week that I can launch my boat, do some good fishing, have fun with the kids and a good family experience. What do you know about a place called "Martin's Cottage on Cresent"? The lake is Cresent Lake and it is located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Has anyone been there or experience this place or the lake? Do you have any suggestions other than this for a good family experience?

White Eagle resort on Vermilion. You'll think you died and went to heaven. Great resort, family-friendly, and one of the best lakes anywhere for fish and scenery. Ask for Sea Gull cabin, it's right on the kiddy beach. Tell them Hans & Colleen recommended them.

No interest in this business other that a VERY satisfied customer.

I've hit Cresent for spring walleye, but only as one of several stops in the Rhinelander area. It is a pleasant lake, but not what I'd call outstanding. Highly developed. At its best, I would rank the fishing as being fair.

If you go there, plan to hop from lake to lake -- Dam, Moen, the 2nd, 3rd, etc. chain, etc. Rhinelander itself has the river and some good fishing there.

I don't know how far you care to travel, but my favorite family resort is Brindley's Harbor Resort on Leech Lake. Great facilities, super lake, near to various northwoods attractions.

Walker MN Leech lake. Resort:Spirit of the North resort. 10 miles from downtown Walker. We have gone there for 7years and love it. I have a 3 and 5 year old boys and there is plenty to do in Walker that is kid friendly. The moondance ranch is a afternoon blast for the kids.

Spirt of the North is a family resort with 12 cabins lots of kids activities (pony rides ect)and the beach, Great cabins and most of all on famous Leech lake. Oh--great protected harbor!!!

Call Tim and Sue Anderson at 1-800-516-0077 let them know Shawn and Shelley sent you.

I cant say enough about this place.

Enjoy your family vacation.

Try Life O Riley Resort on Lake Vermillion in Minnesota. Nice sand beach for the kids (on the opposite side of the point from the boat docks for safety), great fishing, family atmosphere.

RANGER, I HAVE TO TELL YOU IN ALL OF WISCONSIN THE CHIPPEWA FLOWAGE IS THE MOST SCENIC AND FAMILY ORIENTED PLACE THERE IS AND I'VE BEEN TO MOST OF THE LAKES IN THE STATE. THERE IS PLENTY OF MODERATE AND DOWNRIGHT CHEAP PLACES YOU CAN STAY. THERE IS A WEBSITE FOR CHIPPEWA FLOWAGE AT WWW.CHIPPEWAFLOWAGE.COM. I WOULD SUGGEST ALSO TREELANDS RESORTS. THEY KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE FLOWAGE IS 15,000 + ACRES, ABOVE AVERAGE WALLEYE NUMBERS AND GREAT CRAPPIE NUMBERS ALSO. GOOD LUCK.
