Where do you launch? I hear the perch are around the port. On the Indiana Fishing website, warrior is talking about limits of perch and lakers this past Sunday. I hammered the crappies this past Monday for about an hour.

a buddy of mine..don surber got a nice 12 lb laker sunday morning in an ill-equipped boat...no downriggers...no rod holders...only one rod per person...got on the west wall on a hotntot...there were a lot of boats and not many were seen caught....asked walt at bait shop today if he heard any good news...he said a lot of guys went out but no reports had come in yet....we launched at cal park...there were a lot of guys in the area...mostly drifting with a south wind...we went to "vets" bait shop...the guy sleeps in til 8 am....do not go there...buy bait elsewhere....there were at least 8 boats in his lot waiting for him to open up...thats about all the info i have ...steve

dont ask me how to get there because i only kinda know the way...i might be able to find it but i dont know the streets....the ramp is free...three ramps....when you launch and leave the launch area you will see a breakwall...the other side of the breakwall...the outside area is illinois....inside the breakwall...there is a big fog horn on the one point.....is reciprocal fishing area...dont go into the lake proper and stay inside the wall is my understanding of where you only need an indiana lic.......go sorta out and to the right...you will see a big green bouy....we had a south wind and let the boat drift until we'd get close to the wall...maybe a mile drift at most...whitey used baby roaches...i just used fat heads....i used those spreader rigs just off the bottom and one rod kept me as busy as whitey using three rods...i had perch-type spinners on my spreaders and willow spoons...steve...eatin perch tonite and had a meal thursday...gave brother a bunch and a neighbor lady who is always beggin for fish so after tonite i need to go fishin again...steve
