My brother and I were up last week and, like everyone else, had a ball. When I got home my father in law was at my house and saw the fillets we had. He's 84 years old and asked me if I could possibly take him up and catch some walleyes.
I know you've had some north winds this weekend. Do you think the Huron area will get muddy? If not, I think I'll load him up Monday morning head back up there.
Another thing, thanks to the guys that suggested staying at 'the plantation'. My brother and I stayed there last week and Todd treated us really great.

Tom,
Monday forecast looks pretty good. Here is Open Water forecast posted as of 10:30 AM Sunday. It might be mudded up somewhat but this time of year there is such a large number of fish in the area that there will be some feeding ones out there somewhere.

Good Luck and I hope you guys get some HAWGS.

Steve

The water might be stained, but with them calling for south winds Monday, I plan on hitting it for the night bite regardless. You have to take advantage of any night that you can get on the water in November. Anyone else thinking about being out Monday night?

OK, sounds good enough to me. I just hope he can catch a few. They have had a tough year.
Thanks a lot guys.

Thinking of making the six hour drive to Huron this weekend. I'd like to try a new place to stay. I've been staying at Rivers Edge, but hear good things about the Plantation. Can anyone give me the phone number there? Also, any other good places to stay would be great. Thanks in advance.

Was out yesterday during the day, seen 4 fish caught in other boats but never caught one walleye ourselves. Had a few good bites but never hooked them. There was probably 20 other boats out. As good as last week was I was really suprized that we stuck out the way we did, but I guess thats November walleye fishing for ya. Water clarity wasn't that bad where we were fishing either. Its amazing how many fish are out off of Huron right now, there were schools of fish on the depthfinder screan the entire time we were trolling.

Is there a boat launch in Huron or where is the closest? I would like to try this area for the first time.

Yes, there is a launch on the Huron river right at the bridge (rt.6). It's not the best but what most guys use. 5 bucks to launch and retrieve. Its called "walsowski's" or something similar. good Irish name :)

Well we have just gotten home and we had a blast. My father-in-law is as giddy as kid with a new toy.
Arrived at the Plantation about 1:30 Monday and went out fishing. Caught 8 nice eyes just east of the Huron dump. Tuesday we limited out just west of the dump and Wednesday we got 13 eyes in the same place, but, it got pretty rough around 1:30 and we retired.
Caught our fish on Rapala deep running husky jerks, Blueberry reef runners and some old Rebel deep running lures. Ran 1.6-1.7mph using big boards.
This forum is a great place for out-of-towners to obtain info. Thanks to everyone that posts it.

Tked,

was that you in the Sportcraft walkaround? If so I was the one looking at your boat when you were pulling it out. Glad you guys did so well. nice boat also. Are first two days we went east of the river great marks, but not so many takers. Wednesday we went west and put a hurtin on them. Many less marks but many more fish taken
