I am sure this has been discuss in the past but, I will be purchasing a new tarp in the next 30 days.

recommendations on snaps or tie down style tarps. Advantages and disadvantages to both.
1890 Warrior BT. I trailer a lot and store my boat inside. I am worried about streching and/or shrinking. I have heard Canvan plus in roger MN does great work. Before I go in I would like any feed back and recommendations from you all on what has work best for you.

Thanks in advance

I had a custom cover made by an Amish craftsman in NW PA. It was the best money I spent on the boat. I selected a color matched synthetic material (not cotton canvas type). It is heavy yet flexible, waterproof, won't rot, decently flexible when cold. It is supported with fiberglass bows...my preference...but nothing wrong with poles. The key is to keep it snug and completly sagless. Mine is secured with snaps all the way around (yes, I let him drill the boat), plus a cord that it sewn into a pocket below the snaps...this allows it to be secured by two means while trailering (without unsightly ties or bungees that hold it to the trailer). The snug, secure fit also keeps whipping at bay. I trailer to Canada once a year...700+ miles one way, and always tarped. Although I thought the cost was very reasonable (I could have paid more with other shops that I had visited), base your selection on quality materials and workmanship (look for other jobs completed for other customers as samples of his work). I had a motor hood sewn into the tarp as well (integral keeps the boat drier, protects the motor as well)...be sure they sew a batting (soft padding) inside the hood or it may rub some dull spots into the motor cowl). Good Luck!
