It's time to replace a lost file and I'm looking for input. Do I get one of the electric hook sharpeners, or the standard "file style" sharpener. I'd be using this on trebles and standard hooks. Thanxxx.

If you need to continuously sharpen lots of hooks, for example, if you fish multiple lines on Lake Michigan (or elsewhere) and need the convenience and speed, get a Hook-Hone-R. They don't do the precision job you can do by hand with a good file, but they work very well, the nicad batteries hold a charge a long time, and you will not have the tendency to get lazy -- e.g. "I can sharpen them later."

I just bought another ignition (points) file since I liked the first one so much. These have fine teeth which makes sharpening hooks a breeze.
Berkleys line stripper/ hook sharpener works pretty good if you have a delicate touch. Something like a pencil... only as good as the person using it.
