either that or the coming ice age may have killed all the coho/brown trout in portage area....went out today...my new minnkotta puked out...worked just fine last wk!....i fished the end of the ditch beginning at the last water discharge...wen t to the mouth and the mouth was open to the lake...went out all around the outside of the mouth...trolling and casting....not one bite....so i figure somethin is up....either they forgot to stock fish, the cold weather killed all the fish, the pollution that comes down from canada poisoned all the fish, of footdoc got out earlier and farted a big one and scared em all away...something caused the fish not to bite...it couldnt be me...i was the only boat there...steve

Steve
What water temps did you find? Warmer in the ditch? Did you fish by the last discharge before the lake?
Chomping at the bit to get out. When the water hits 38-40 degrees they should start to go.
Thanks for posting a report.
Mike

No, Stevie, I think your inability to get a bite on the big lake today is simply a reflection of your fishing abilities. Nothing ever changes. Just wait a while until the ice on my lake melts a bit and I will stop catching gills and crappies and bring the boat out and show you where the coho's are hiding.

i'm roughing it and didnt put any elec tonics on the boat...so i'm not sure what the temp was...just too cold for anyone else to try fishin in and open boat...i just knew footdoc would blame it on my abilities...that guy is always pickin on me...no wonder i have this low self esteem problem...

Steve,

Where did you launch? thinking of hitting it later this week if the forecast holds. Thursday looks good both for temps and the work schedule is open.
