When do you want to go? What types of accommodations are you looking for? Do you have a boat, or need one provided? Do you want meals, or will you bring and cook your own? The restaurants in that area are excellent and offer a wide variety of fare from pizza and shakes to 5 star gourmet.

I might be able to set you up but need to do this off line. Get in touch with me. Eric@crowncomputerinc.com

Otherwise get in touch with the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce: http://www.perham-mn.com

Also, look at this site for a starter or two: http://www.lodging.org/cities/MN-Ottertail.htm

Sorry, I never stayed right on Ottertail. But If you don't mind trailering your boat 4 miles to the public ramp on Ottertail, I would recommend Lakeshore resort on Rush Lake. It has new owners from Orange City Iowa this year so I don't know them or what kids activities they have. But it has good older cabins 5 steps from the water's edge with plenty of good docks, baithouse, paddle boats, no real beach but a heated swimming pool and a minature golf course directly accross the street in a quiet neighborhood. (I don't think they have air conditioning)

Rush Lake itself is a good sized lake with lots of structure. I was not impressed with Walleye fishing on Rush Lake but I've heard it can be quite good. My kids had a great time with bluegills many were 9 - 10", and tons of small perch and rock bass. We also caught some decent largemouth bass, several small 1-3 lb northerns and a few big crappies.

No matter where you go in Minnesota, I'd expect most the best family resorts to already be booked for much of the summer of 2001.

Good Luck

This is some good advise from the fella's! I would also try this web site: Ottertailfishing.com It will give you tons of resorts to choose from in Ottertail county. Some friends of mine have stayed at Holly's on the NW shore of Ottertail and loved it. I personally have never stayed on Ottertail.(I have a cabin on a different local lake) but I know you will love the area. Good luck! and ya better get crackin at those reservations! Spring time is comin! :-)

Have stayed on Ottertail many times, and prefer Three Seasons Lodge. Have boats to rent (including pontoon), nice swimming beach in view of cabins, beautiful lodge, and lifts available. Only beef is no ramp at lodge, have to use public access a mile or so down the road. Highly recommend Zorbas for food and libations, if so inclined.
