What effect will this big blow and cold have on the spa...

What will this big blow and cold temps. have on the spawn? Will this push the spawn back. Will this have an adverse affect on this years spawn.

Ths weather won't push the spawn back. The fish spawn on a "biological clock" of sorts that relates more to length of day and moon cycle. Many females have already dumped their eggs (as of Sunday) and more have probably since. The cold weather/water definitely won't help the incubation of the eggs and the blow could displace some, many or most off the reefs and deposit them in in the mud, where they will suffocate. Cold, muddy water also deters the growth of phytoplankton, which are the foodsource as soon as the fry hatch and absorb their egg sacks. It doesn't look good. Hopefully Mother Nature relents and the later spawners have some success.
