I was up Sunday on my boat and watched the guys pull 3 of the 4 trap nets they had set up. Very few walleyes in the nets. They told me the walleye spawn was about over and the muskies were just starting to come in. If you've never seen them pull the nets it's pretty cool. We just happened to be by #2 when they pulled it so we went over and started talking to the guys and ended up following them to the last 2 nets to watch. Really nice guys, they let us pull right up to their boat and take pictures. If anyone cares to see them let me know and I'll try to post a few pics.

wood, did they say if the numbers were worse than the previous few years or better?
rapman-- ohio side,south end, sandbars.
yeah right-- I wasn't there. But I did talk to the people that did catch the fish. I'll make this easy on both of us and won't post the info anymore. Just trying to help.

i was up ther last week and fishing was slow, talked to a couple of other boats that had nothing. i will not fish thislake anymore until it gets straighted out. i figure the couple eyes i catch, is one less taken from the lake. i caught some big eyes over the years and somthing is wrong.

i have asked this question on other sites and never got an answer. has the pa fish commission ever admitted to stocking alewifes and did they ever admit they made a mistake? have fished this lake since the 70s and have never seen it this bad. never waded this spring. saw few anglers out. glad some of them did okay, but something is wrong.

I have fished pymo for nearly 40 yrs. sure you have some bad years..even good years you have bad days. The best of the best can not limit out all the time.Give yourself a break...understand why pymo walleys>>do what they do>>when they do it..and last where they do it.By the way I dont consider myself to be an expert or close to it just some thoughts not advice. The fish are still there maybe not in the numbers we would like it will take you to locate them, they will no come to you.........Thats why it is called WALLEYFISHING.:grd:

I trolled from stockers to the causeway and caught 1 white bass and marked NO fish. I know its not catching its fishing, but the lack of marks make me scratch my head.

i love the lake and with the abscense of walleye, i now target other species when up there. however, it is not a limit of fish, but the possibility of fish that brought anglers back year after year. as wannabefishin said, no one even marks fish. i know so many die-hards who have quit the lake to fish others. there is legitimate concern about what has transpired and the lack of acknowledgement by pa as to the problem. if it is addressed at all, it is very quietly. some feel that the fish commission experimented with a non-native sprecie and it back-fired. the lake still has a viable smallmouth fishery as well as panfish and muskie. this will keep a lot of fishermen content for awhile.
