My brother Kenneth had the day off yesterday. But was back out there again today in some pretty lousy weather with off and on rain showers and not very warm either. The bite started off real slow today and he and his clients only had 1 keeper in the boat at 12:30 this afternoon. That's when Kenneth decided to make a run to some totally different water. Good decision too as they ended up catching 13 more keepers the next couple hours and headed for the launch about 3:30 pm. They ended up putting the boards, bouncers, and spinners away in favor of simplifying things by drifting with just a splitshot, single hook, and half a crawler in 7-11 feet of water. Sometimes, simplicity is the key....So far, the season is off to a very good start. Wouldn't bother me if the weather warmed up a little bit though...
