A year ago today here in Northeast Wisconsin the temperature hit 70 and I went fishing. Today we almost hit 30. People are still driving on the lakes. The boat landings on the rivers are still filled with ice. My boat hasen't moved since November 7. What's the deal? Has spring been cancelled this year?

A year ago today was Greenspan's birthday & the NASDAQ peaked at an all time high...things have cooled off in more ways than one.

I feel for ya !!! Last year the 5th of March we fished the Illinios river. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!! The fish were spawned out by the 1st week of April. I hope they wait.

Our weather guys here tell us that this is the first typical winter for this area in five years. We have all turned soft. We have another six weeks here till open water. I'll enjoy the icefishing till it closes on April 15th. Then I'll whine and complain.......but while I'm whining I'll be getting my summer gear together.:-)

Yeah, I know what you mean. On Feb 29th last year, I was golfing with the guys in my office. That weekend I went to the cabin and did some river crappie fishing. It's been a cruel winter this year.

I keep thinking that if I buy more gear, spring will come faster...it's not working and I am going broke. Any one else having this problem? :-)

I talked to one of my pro staffers today, he said he was out fishing in a boat today. He lives a little north of Chicago.
I guess it was in the river near a power plant, caught some nice bass. I think he is nuts, but, he catches fish. Anyway, I hope you all have a great spring.

It is all my fault I will take the blame for the long winter! Go figure 3 years ago by new snowmobile 3 cr@#%@y winter's in a row, hardly got to ride it, last fall went out and bought a new boat, guess what? Snow up to your eye balls and eveything still frozen solid, and no end in sight, a year ago I had hit the river a couple of times by now. Aquaman I am tring your theory with also the same results.

Go figure, good luck moreyes

Here in SW MINN a year ago 81 degrees and the water was 45 on a shallow lake. Today high 25 and we have 30 plus inches on ice to melt yet. Boat is in shed with a 10 foot drift in front of it.
