Report for the fisherman I got out this past Sunday for a few hours. Trolled for walleye until 11 without any walleyes being caught trolled through all the boats and back around. Only one major hit but missed it. Heard on the radio some people where having the same luck. What happened to the walleye?
So I picked up and went to try to find some perch. Stayed in close with the walleye boats but out of the pack of them. Started to pick a few up before the winds changed and it got really choppy out there. Picked up 10 by that point in about a half hour and called it quits. Not the day I was looking for. Anyone else do any better?

We were off Geneva on Sunday, 0645 to 1200. Picked up 16 Walleyes and lost two outside of net range, biggest was 7.5 lbs. Ran 8 dipsies, and caught on several different colors of small Stingers, and 3 on watermellon harnesses. We were parallel with a charter for a while, and they seemed to be picking them up at one every 3 minutes or so for about the 20 minutes we were watching them. They also had boards out. The fish are there. Try changing up your tactics.

What depth were you running your dipsys if you dont mind me asking. I almost trolled over to geneva but I turned around and trolled back to bula. I had almost every color from watermelon harness to a blueberry muphin harness. Also tried some small stingers. I think I just didn't have the correct depth. Were you using big dipsys? THanks for the reply back.

I was using #1 dipsies 35-40' down over 50-55 FOW. We might have done better running the lines a little less deep. We had best luck on small stingers, only a few on harnesses. If you want limits of Walleyes, get out there early (0500-0530) at the crack-o-dawn. After the sun comes up awhile the catch rate starts to go down, as we found out.

Fished Ashtabula after work yesterday from 3:30-8:30 pm caught 17 walleyes and dropped about 5 coming in.All came on small stinger spoons and 30/40 jets 80-110 back on small boards.Hot color was bumblebee or anything with yellow in it,as it got toward evening switched over to brighter color spoons and they were going as well,,,,Catdog,Pussnboots, blueberrymuffin, wildthin g.
The trash fish are starting to show up also with about 7 sheephead and about 8 white perch caught. Also caught the first steelhead of the year,,,,about 7lbs.

Sounds like good reports coming from out there. Hopefully the weather holds for this weekend as I can't get out after work stupid 9-5 jobs are not a good thing. By the way are the walleye still holding close or they starting to move out deeper. Hopefully they can hold close for a little longer. Helps save on the gas as we all know the prices aren't the cheapest.
