I was hoping to catch walleye in the river yesterday. Instead I spent an hour and a half cleaning silver bass off my lines. I’d send then down and within a minute or less I’d have at least 1 on. Sometimes 2, and sometimes 2 on 1 bait. I gave up and went out to the banana dike. Within another hour and a half I was upgrading. 1.3-1.5 mph black/green beads and gold /red beads on bottom bouncers. I spent more time cleaning off weeds than fishing but, it was worth it. No signs of vhs in any of the fish I caught. The fish I’ve caught this spring from the river and upper end of the lake have been a lot healthier than the fish from the luna pier/ Monroe area.
