Does anybody have any good suggestions on a good rain suit under $100. The pants always seem to rip, but the jacket never does. Has anybody tried Frogg Toggs? Or does anybody know of a good pair of pants for a resonable price? I've got plenty of jackets. I only seem to use them once or twice a year, so I don't want to spend alot of money.

I have had the same problem durning my years. I have found that columbia makes a great and durable line of outdoor gear. They sell a set of bibs that look like cabelas guidewear. I have used them for years of hard tournament fishing and they dont even look worn. If you watch bass pro shops they usually put them on sale about now and you can pick them up for around $75.

Years ago, while asking the same questions you have asked, I looked around to see what the people who work in the elements wore. The majority of our local power company employees, public works crews, linemen, firemen and construction workers seemed to go for the heavy rubber suits that stood up well under duress. About 8 or 9 years ago I settled on a Helly-Hansen suit (jacket and bib pants) and have been dry ever since. No rips, tears or other signs of wear. I'll never win a fashion show, but then, why the **** would I want to?

I just picked up a set of bibs/jacket for about $160. I know that that is a little more than you wanted to spend, but these are the "Signature" series rainwear from Cabelas. The little brother to the guidewear. A buddy has worn them for years, with no problems. Plus a couple of the colors are on clearence right now. I've been down your road before, and have found that it will be worth a few extra buck to stay dry.
