Fished another weekend with good results. Saturday started out due north of the creek in 60' of water and trolled south west. Picked up 13 fish on the first pass then had to run back to get the final 5 fish. Finished with 18 walleyes by 1pm.

Sunday two of us fished the same area with similar results. Stayed away from the monster pack of boats. Started out pulling 9 eyes by 8am then things slowed significantly. Worked 2 more hours for the last 3 fish.

No real monsters this weekend all fish 19"-25". Caught in 52-60' of water on dipsys and harnesses.

e-coli does not affect the fish it just contaiminates the water the only way to get it is to drink the water...there is no way to get ecoli from fish...just to make some of you feel better........

The real name of the problem in Lake Erie is VHS, Viral Hemmoragic Septicima. E-bola in fish is a good way to describe it in laymans terms. It is a blood disease that is believed to have been brought to the Great Lakes via ocean liners dumping their ballast when entering the St. Lawrence Seaway. So far it does not appear to have affected the Walleye populations here localy. Though there was a die-off of fish in Dunkirk Harbor earlier in the Spring attributed to VHS.

Don't mean to be critical BUT this is another case of foreigners upsetting the eco-system of our waterways. Zebra Mussles,Spiney Water Fleas, VHS and who knows what's next???

But I digress. The purpose of my post here is to seek tips & tactics as well as current reports on Walleye & Steelhead fishing in this area.

I will be fishing the Erie Pa. Sportfishing Associations Pro-Am Walleye Steelhead Tournament on August 11th & 12th. I would appreciate any info that would help us defeat the $80,000 boat type guys as we are just a small boat 3 man team.

It is thanks to info recieved here that we won a 3 Rivers Pittsburgh Tournament 4 years ago when the odds against us were like 100-1.

The event site is Jrs. On The Bay/The Sloppy Duck Saloon and if you would like info you can visit their site at www.eriepasportfishingassoc.com

Any help would be welcomed. If you decide to get in and not share info and kick our butts I will understand! LOL!!! If nothing else please introduce yourself as it would be my honor to purchase any WC'ers a Senior Soda Pop at the Sloppy Duck Saloon!

If you can't win a tournament, you might as well have fun fishing it!!! Thanks!
