when the ice goes off the lakes ,like a week, at what depth do most of the fisherpeople start there fishing for these walleye's.
just a little more info , what kind of setup and baits.
if you can help an old man to fish a little better then thanks.

hey a good thing to try is where the water comes into the lake . its what i do and alot of others. you can catch lots of fish this way. use a#9 folating rap or shad rap a#7 or 6 they work good also. cast next to the current thats where the fish usally sit

Always start shallow and where the water warms first. Spawning walleye are usually either just coming off spawning or in the middle of spawning. Walleyes relate to warm water first. Find a spot on the lake where the water is coming in or maybe a feeter creek comes into the lake would be the best choise.
