I recently became the very proud owner of a 3/4 ton suburban.
The question I have is on my tire inflation.
I am running BF Goodrich 265-75-R16 All Terrain Baja Champions.
The side wall says 65 cold psi. can this be right. Seems like a ton of air. I saw the other post with about the same answer and was looking for some more information.

That would be the optimum pressure for the tires, especially if you are going to be towing.

The manufacter puts a sticker on the drivers door or glovebox with the recommended psi. I would follow that or if you have an Explorer, run 32 psi (not 26). Tight lines!

Read the sidewall carefully. That may be the maximum pressure. The pressure listed on the tag in your driver's door frame will give the "best" ride. What you need with the additional weight of a trailer tongue weight will require some testing and a lot of paying attention on your part.
This hint, lifted from a 4X4 magazine, may help. Load up the Suburban with the tackle, people, trailer, and other stuff you're going to haul/tow. Draw a heavy chalk line across the tire treads. Drive a few blocks, including corners.
If there is chalk remaining in the center of the tread, you are underinflated. If any remains on the edges, you are overinflated. If the chalk wears off evenly, you are fine. Just like Goldilocks.
When on the road, feel the tread and sidewalls and compare the temperature of the front tires to the rear. If the rear (load bearing) tires are hotter, add some air after they have cooled off. Rmember, those pressure numbers are for cold tires.
My pickup with camper in the bed, and boat in tow gets 80psi in all four of its load range "F" tires.
