Fished from about 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Friday. Beautiful day on the water. Caught nine nice walleye. I think 7 of them were between 4 to 6 pounds. One was about 3 pounds and our biggest was a little over 7. There were several big fish caught by others around us on Friday though. 3 setting dipsey back 90 on one side and 100 on the other was best. Silver Streak Mini Streaks - Pink Panties and Mixed Vegies. Also took a few on cranks. Fruitloops Ripstick back 100 took two fish. Deep Reef Runner 180 Back took two also - Purple Barely Naked and a white bodied one painted up similar to the Pink Panties Silver Streak. We were running about 2.1 MPH for Speed. 28.5N and 31W was about the center of our action.

Will likely have a dipsey or two down most ANYTIME I'm fishing more than 30 feet deep. I guess 50 would be the "magic" number if I were going to switch away from spoons which is getting closer. I don't fish real late into the year - hope to get next weekend in and then probally done for the year. I also run cranks a lot throughout the year so it's not like we are "switching" from all spoons to all cranks, etc. Some of it is a function of how many people fishing with and how many rods out. If I have enough people I'll also likely run a stickbait behind a dipsey next week. In the spring I probally don't start fishing dipseys and spoons until water temp is above 50 and more like 55. There were some real nice fish taken on dipsey harnesses yesterday by a friend. People tend to automatically think of only spoons when dipseys are talked about (which is by far the most common lure choice behind dipseys) - but we use stickbaits and harnesses behind dipseys throughout the year as there simply isn't a more EFFICIENT method of trolling open water than dipseys. Also fish taken on inline harnesses the past two days so the good news right now is fish are being taken on about just about ANY way you might like to fish on Erie.

My brother and son fished Friday, Saturday and Sunday. caught 12 eyes on Friday, 12 on Saturday and only 1 on Sunday.
Fished East and Northeast of Dump over to 27-27 & 27-28.
Reef Runners 180-200 back. Anything with purple on it.
We managed a 12.5 lber on Saturday.
A great trip that could have been better with lower water temps.
