I heard the smelt in Superior have started to run. Does anyone have any reports? When, where, time, quantity?

Man that brings back memories. I used to go up in the early spring and go to the little creeks and rivers smelt dipping. Man they are the best tasting fish IMO. I have no info just hope you find them.

Been to cold in baraga county.they ran very little one nite.30 smelt for a cold night,needs to warm up.

According to the MDNR report @ http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364-34956--,00.html it sounds like it is towards the end of the run on the /carp and Nunns Creek. I grew up in Da U.P. and the good run doesn't last very long. Usually by the time you here they are running strong it really drops off in about a week weather pending. Good Luck.
