how makes the widest boat on the market today?
Newport News Shipbuilding Company. Their newest model, CVN-76, has a waterline beam of 134 feet.

I don't think I could get that in my garage.....

LOL!!! Hans... I work for company that is building turbines for CVN 77. The last of this style then they have an experimental one after that. It may have outriggers and a planer mast.

Could probably also take a few downriggers without much trouble. Do you think it possible use precision trolling on such a vessel?

Probably need to add a kicker or trolling plate to get down to speed.

No trailer -- it's a car topper.
My Starcraft Pro-Elite 2000 Has a 102 inch beam. The widest 20 footer on the market. Rides like a dream. Wouldn`t trade it for nothing. In my opinion the Pro-Elite is the finest aluminum boat made.

Keep in mind while looking for that WIDE boat. Wider rides rougher.
I been around. Playing computer games, working alot, shopping for a truck and boat. Trying to spend more time with my little one in the evenings, it's gonna be a busy summer, and I'll be away from him enough then. I stop in the chat once in a while, but my timing is always bad. :)
How you doing OJ?
You need to consider hull style too. A lot of deadrise on a 100" beam boat will ride better than a relatively flat 85" beam boat. Example would be the difference between the crestliner fish hawk and tournament series. The V angle is much different between the 2, but the beam is similar (I believe, can't remember the numbers).

The Fish Hawk has an 11 deg. hull and the tournament has a 17 deg. But that's beside the point. You guys crack me up! And this started out so slow I almost didn't follow it.Heye5
