View Full Version : Apologies to CMB and most others
cmb - in case it gets lost in the other thread, I am sorry. I owe you an apology, my negative comments were definitely wrong. I am not normally a negative person, I don't know what got into me. I also apologize to the rest of you who read my comments except for STUMP who is not only as big an a_____e as I am, but crude to boot.
ufda
thank you, let it all be water under the bridge.
i put this on the other thread 1st, here it is again:
it's real easy to say something and walk away.
it's harder to critize ones own actions.
and harder yet, to offer an apolagy.
ufda, you're alright man! good fishing to you and cmb

ps. is ufda an acronym, if it is...i think i've been called that before myself. ;-)
Thanks. No, it's an old Norwegian expression, heard often in my home state of MN, that one would use in place of "ouch" when you see someone stub their toe, or "I'm sure tired" when you sit down. Hard to explain unless you were born with it.
ufda
But, now you have me curious -- and I know better than to ask -- but what does the acronym stand for? I can imagine the last two words, but the first ones escape me.

Ufda, wouldn't the Yiddish "ouyay" (which I've misspelled) be a rough equivalent? Some things can't be translated, although transplanted. With Norse origins, are we "good" or "bad" exotics.
You stand tall, no matter your measurements. Good man.

UFDA,You can view me as you like!Everyone here is entitled to their own opinions, thats what make boards such as this a great place to gain knowlege on many different levels for the same subject.Negative points of view are not necessairily a bad thing..they just represent a different opinion which might not have been considered in order to form a more rounded observation.By your more recent posts,I can see that you are a gentleman and a man who obviously just got caught up in the situation as did I.My post was harsh and disrespectfull to you as a person, and for that I apologise to you.Boards such as this are supposed to give everyone a chance to exchange their knowlege and opinions so everyone can benifit from the vast amount of information which can be used. Not a place to belittle someone because they cant spell a word or might have a different view on a subject then you.I admit I was an A@#hole for presenting my post as I did,but point being it made you see what yours looked like to others. That was my only intent.Again I apologise to all who were subjected to posts like ours and to you who I do not know as a person but as someone who simply chose the wrong way to express an opinion!Hey,water under the bridge??? Tight lines and bent poles to all!!JOHN
You nailed it. That would be the best synonym.
ufda
I accept and I am returning the favor. You also have my apology. I've made two mistakes in a row. Must be cabin fever. UFDA! do I need to hear water slapping on the bottom of a boat!!!
Thanks,
ufda
not a true acronym...hope no one gets offended(not my intention)...like i said i've been called it. u as in you, f as in freaking(but harsher), d as in dumb, a as in another word for donkey.
had the flu all week and been using WC as one of my meds. what a brain fart on my end to take u for you. i thought i read a post here where someone was using a "colorful" acronym as there handle. sorry i had mistaken your handle as acronym

Ufda I like your style, you must be

No wonder I've come to like BE -- he's another exotic with Norsk origins. That's a good Fargo rendition, but my mother's very favorite, which I detest to this day, was "Maybe so."
I found that the world's greatest put down. No matter the statement, she could casually reply, "Maybe so."
My mother-in-law was fond of "Time will tell."
Ouyey, how I hate those two expressions.
