Seems like a really poor year for everything in this neck of the woods...
Off again on again at Pymy with low numbers but big fish, same at 'squito, poor reports at Tamarack, Wilhelm, Arthur, and mediocre reports at Shenango.

Storm Warning,
Do you fish much at Shenango? I usually only fish it for crappie, but was wondering how the walleye fishing was? I have been wanting to go trolling for some eyes but have never fished it for eyes.

Never trolled it for 'eyes, but the river above the lake up to the dam for Pymy at Jamestown has a decent population.
I believe that there are 'eyes in Shenango but there are a ton of cats and hybrids that do most of the eating for the trollers.

There are some good ones in there. They apparently washed over the Spillway early this year in the high water. There were NOT any hybrids on the non-management area side until then according to Fish Commish, only pure white bass have been. I have been a proponent of stocking the sterile hybrids in the main lake for 2 or 3 years now to rid the lake of the horrendous Alewife problem that has to be at least in part responsible for the decline in the 'eye fishery. Alewife (those big shad looking things that wash up on shore in the spring) are serious predators of young of the year perch and walleye. Just ask the guys in Saginaw Bay how good the 'eye fishing has been since the Chinooks destroyed their Alewife population.
