2 winters ago when i first started using walleye central the posts were very informing and helpful to lots of people now it seems everytime somebody posts on here the bashers have a field day. seems like a lot of people dont even bother to post anymore i/m sure this is the biggest reason for that does anybody else feel this way.

I disagree. I'm not saying bashing doesn't happen - but I think it represents the exception rather than the rule. This site is still an awesome resource. Not everyone will agree on things - and some people are better communicators than others. I've said things here that I regretted and later apologized for it. This is an open forum and we have to take the good with the bad. If you're talking about "my boat is better than your boat" or something like that - rise above it.

You know most of the regulars here. Most are easily recognized, even some of the infamous, shall we say, strongly opinionated regulars.

All are welcome here. This site basically polices itself. There is a high level of decorum here. When it doesn't Scott does. I know we all know this.

However, there are hundreds, if not thousands of new people, that were not here at this time last year. We got almost 6 Million hits in February.

Unfortunately, we cannot be here 24 - 7, nor can we monitor every single post as it goes up. We do have rthe ability to automatically turn a word like #####, into what you see. For those of you fed up with the occasional nasty post, please, do two things.

First, click on the alert link at the bottom of any offensive post. The screen that comes up gives you a box to describe what you find offensive. Fill it out and send it if you want to, if not, just scroll down and hit send. You will have done so in anonymity.

I don't just mean someone you disagree with, but someone who is totally out of line or vulgarly slamming someone or a product by name. Let us worry about it.

Second, do not engage them in a fire fight. Agitators tend to go away if left alone or are constanly removed.

People are people, we can't change that. But, we can do everything possible to keep vulgar, obscene or deragatory material off the message board.

Now is the ice gone yet?????
