Lake Athabaska

Has anyone out there been to lake Athabaska in northern Saskatchewan? I am booking a trip there next year and I am trying to decide on the best time of year to go. I am mainly interested in big lake trout but also would like to get into the pike. Any help would be apreciated.
I know, I know this is a Walleye site!
