Are Knobby and rory fishing this one together, If so I think I will pass on this one, We know who the winners will be all they have to do is launch from the otherside of the river as usual again.

Sorry if this sounds a little trivial but when you say 'other side of the river' are you refering to above the #####? If so, did anyone else do the same? I'm not fishing the tournament, just curious. Thanks in advance. Tight lines...

they might as well had the check over to them now and not hold the tournament.

Again, I am having a hard time not reading between the lines on these posts. Knobby is a master fisherman. He has guided on the Illinois River for over 20 years. He consistently ranks high in events run very carefully to avoid any question of outcome. If you want to beat him, do it on the water, not here. And, if you want to post snide comments about people, how bout signing your name.

Hope this finds everyone ready for the spring BITE. Let's put things in perspective.
!st. Knobby and Rory are not Team Memebrs in the Illinois division. Knobby has a partner and Rory has a partner for the 2001 season.
2nd. For everyones awareness It don't make any differnece where you launch your boat, anybody who does NOT LAUNCH AT BARTO'S LANDING HAS TO COME INTO THE LAGOON AND BE INSPECTED BY ONE OF THE OFFICAL'S OF THE TOURNAMENT. If you don't beleive this ask the fisherman that fish the tournamnet they have been called into the bank for inspection before. Also they are not the only teams who have launched over there before, and some teams even leave their boats at the boat club. When we have 70 or better Teams this is a real advantage of being able to get boats in the water and off the road.
3rd. season operner 10/14 Knobby 26th place
Rory 13th place
10/15 Knobby 16th place
Rory 8th place
11/12 Knobby 0
Rory 5th place
12/9 Knobby 17th place
Rory 3rd place
12/!0 Knobby 4th place
Rory 36th place
You want me to just give them the Check! I don't think so There is to many good sticks on the River that can win any given tournament on any given day.
Last but not least. This is our 5th year of running the Team Walleye events. When we started in 97 we averaged 27 teams per event. Last year we averaged 67. My beleif is that if the fisher-people didn't beleive in the way we were conducting tournaments we would not consistently see the increase in participation.
As always If you like we we are doing tell your friends, if you don't tell me. SEE YOU ON THE WATER.

What the heck is going on?Did somebody get caught cheating during a tournament or what?Ive been caught taking a wewe. But maybe I'm missing something on this subject????There was a couple of guys from down in southwestern IL that where suspected of cheating in catfish tournaments because they where winning every tournament they where getting in,and to make a long story short they where told[not asked] they could not participate in them anymore so thay travel and still win these all the time ---let me know whats going on---thanks Marvin S.

The tournaments are well run and fair. There only seems to be a sorehead out there. And no, I don't have the power to delete postings. But if someone is deleting unfounded personal attacks, I am certainly glad they are.

>I HAVE FISHED THE ILLINOIS RIVER FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE BEEN A GUIDE ON THE RIVER FOR 15 YEARS. I HAVE KNOWN KNOBBY FOR LONGER THAN THAT AND I KNOW HIM AS ONE OF THE BEST FISHERMAN ON THE RIVER AND HE ##### SURE DOES NOT HAVE TO CHEAT TO WIN TOURNEMENTS.

Well said, Mike. Knobby is awesome. He has taught me a lot and I appreciate all he has done for the sport of sauger fishing on the Illinois.

I do'nt know to much about walleye fishing as i like to fish mainly for bluecat, but as i recall also a couple of years ago in a catfishing tourney one of our local people got beat out by some people from southwestern,ILL by having a reweigh, the judges allowed this and the local guy got beat out of several hundred dollars but like eagle eye said you have to go with the system and i personally know that the MEN at the springvalley MWC tourney do one of the finest jobs anyone can do---when you fish for cats set that hook like you've never set a hook before,Dan Gapen said that

Funny, the tournament director states the facts as well as the finnishes of these two men, and the FACT that they are not even fishing together and you still shoot off your mouth. You got peanut butter in your head or somethin????

Just for the record, if you go to pages 2,3,4 etc., you'll see most of the threads are still there. They have just shuffled back in the order as no new posts have kept them on page one.
