Well, I finally hauled the boat out of storage last week and there they were. All those nasty hard crusty dried blood spots from last years fish on the carpet. They shouldn't bother me but they do as I like to keep the boat looking new. I fish alot of salmon and trout on Lake Michigan and those suckers bleed a lot. I try to remove the blood spots after every trip but i always miss some. Does anyone have a sure fire method to lift out old dried fish blood on the carpet. I think my next boat will have a vinyl floor so I can just hose it down after each trip. thanks for your help.

I have found that Fantastik does a pretty good job of removing small spots of any kind from carpet. Just spray it on, let sit a couple seconds, work with a brush, and wipe away. Good Luck..

If the blood is dry, wet it down with hydrogen peroxide and let it set for a couple of minutes. Then take paper towels or a white towel and pat it dry. Use this over again, until the spot is removed. Hydrogen peroxide is the best thing to use on blood because there is no reaction to any chemicals in the cleaner. H2O2 changes red blood cells to clear plasma.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for tips. I will try them both tonight. I think my wife has some hydrogen peroxide somewhere.
