What types of cranks work best for springtime post spawn trolling? I have had poor success at this time of year, and would like to take a different approach. How does 3-10ft, tight wobble, slow speed sound? I was thinking such lures as the skinny minnow baits ie husky jerks, wally divers, thunderstick juniors, etc in the small sizes.
Any Tips or should I just stick to the jig and minnow?

You have a pretty good list of lures there, i noticed that the reefrunners wasnt on there, that is another good one to add to it, the little rippers and deep little rippers are also good spring baits. where are you planning on fishing(lakes, inland, or the great lakes?) good luck and good fishin.

I have found great success with smithwick rattling rogues (pro rogues: black & silver, with blue and yellow eye; I use some super rogues but mainly the pro) for the spring fish. I fish the Thunderbay (Lake Huron) in northeast Michigan. We usely troll the mouth of the Thunderbay River on a reef that ranges from 6' to 15'. I was turned on to them about 2 years ago and never leave home without a full box of baits. I have found them to work better than jerks and seem to have more success than my fellow anglers using similar baits. I predominately fish at night, so this may not be true of day-time fishing. I seem to switch at post-spawn to #18 Rapalas and don't come back to the rogues until November early December. Goodluck and let me know what you think. This is my first on-line question/response.
