Late last year, i installed a X85 on the bow of my boat. I have a skimmer transducer attached to the trolling motor using a trolling motor transducer mounting kit. The transducer cable snakes up the trolling motor shaft and attaches to the sonar. I have followed the instructions that came with the 824 autopilot trolling motor pretty much to a tea. The problem is that in certain cases, when i turn on the trolling motor, i get interference on the sonar screen from top to bottom. That happens only part of the time though so it isnt a consent. Other times it works just fine. The power for the sonar does go straight to a terminal block on the starting motor. Any ideas? thanks in advance, k

Does the interference happen at just certain speeds, or at any speed, just at given times?

Is your X-85 hooked up to your trolling motor battery? If so, unhook & rehook up to your starting battery. This may help.

I had the same problem. Minkota has a list of procedures to follow. I grounded the motor to the batterys and grounded the starting battery to the trolling motor batterys. Get the list from Minkota And follow it. No easy answer.
