Old GPS.....

I have an old Magellan GPS 2000 which, I believe, only has a 2 channel receiver. Will this GPS take advantage of the newer more accurate GPS signal, or do I need to get a newer 12 channel GPS to fully utilize the greater accuracy? Any recommendations for a new one?

Yes, it takes advantage of the recent changes. I have an old Garmin and a new 12 channel Garmin. The old one takes longer to lock on, but once it has it's fine on the water where there are no mountains or tree canopies to interfere. I save the new one for hunting and leave the old one on the boat.
