John;
For many of us fighing doen't really get started until fall. There isn't a place I can think of where the fall isn't the best time to fish. Low boat traffic, reduced fishing pressure and the fish preparing for winter make it the best.
The Kawartha lakes are great in October. Although a bit chilly, the musky fishing is great.
Also on the great lakes the salmon move closer to shore and fatten up for the spawn.

If you like smallies, colchester ontario, on the westren basin of lake eire. It's normal to get 100 fish from 3-6#.Some say the next recod smallie, may come from that area. good luck bring lots of livebait.
Yep. Spectacular fishing for Walleye at Pine Falls in the fall. You have a very good chance at fish over 30". No lakers here though ... although they are found nearby in Northwest Ontario and points further north in Manitoba

You might try Last Mountain lake in Saskatchewan. Incredible trophy fishing for walleye up to 14 pounds.
