If it has indeed been removed it is because that myth is just that. A myth. An urban ledgend that has circulated for years.
But you might want to look in the archives. A few repeat posts may have pushed you post off the edge.

I suspected that a thread I started last week, regarding "Vomit as Chum" was dumped because it was distasteful, yet "Humorous, I thought" or because the staff were opposing my refernce of an off topic story about the Boy Scouts. Any way I couldn't even find it in the Archives!
I guess I was deemed a bad boy! And they removed it, for what ever reason. At least I haven't been banned from posting here, at least not yet!

many of us have had threads removed. the email tax item has been beaten to death and appeared here last week also.
maybe it wasn't anything you said, but a reply to your comment that killed that thread.
at any rate i too, have been "censored" in the past, but i try to consider what it must be like for those who moderate this post.
this time of year it's difficult to get fishing for many and sometimes we bring our political excrement to the board. I can't blame any moderator for trying to nip the problem in the bud at first sight, as far as off color comments or nonrelated topics are concerned. sometimes i think it's like being a kindergarten teacher.
oh yes, i'm not above the fray either, as i said i've had some of my comments removed also.

It is very sad that we need to be censored for having opinions that run contrary to someone's puritanical views.
No one has the right not to be offended but this is a privatly owned forum. The owner can do what he wants as far as censorship goes. If you want to post offensive material perhaps you could start "Evil Central" to go along with your handle.

Here we go again?
OK, the 5 cent email post was pure junk, it is not true, ain't gonna happen, had no place on a WALLEYE board to begin with.
Hearsay is posted here all the time, factual information is the best information in my opinion.
Vomit as Chum started out OK, but when we start begrading an organization like the Boy Scouts of America, it gets turned into cyber dust.
Censorship BadMisterEvil? Hardly that. Puritan? That makes me laugh, you obiously have never met me ;-)
This is a WALLEYE FISHING MESSAGE BOARD isn't it? Is there something wrong with trying to keep it one? Even better how about we keep it an informative one to boot? How is that for a concept?
Even better, how is this for an idea? What do you think about posting factual information instead of "hearsay" or is that pushing the envelope to far?
How about we stop the bashing? What if a person could post a question here without worrying about someone calling them names?
Why is it that a person asks a question about his boat and he's an idiot for buying that boat in the first place?
Yes, posts do get deleted and yes they will continue to be deleted if I don't think they belong here.
Anyone that has questions, opinions etc... my email is: scott@walleyecentral.com and I always answer my email.

I posted two short paragraphs from the Washington Post about Pres Bush recanting on a campaign pledge having to do with our environment -- perhaps it was "offensive," but I suspect it was dumped because of the offensive replies.
Where do we dump hazardous waste?
maybe they don't want it to turn out like all the message boards
like the ones on stocks.

Well said Scott. If it has nothing to do with walleye fishing or related to walleye, tell it to Jerry Springer. Maybe it would be of some interest to him and his audiance.
would it be possible to post a reason when deleting some of these posts? within some of them are bits and pieces of good honest fishing related debate. While I understand them being deleted it may (ok probably not) help to deter the inapropriate responses.

Well said Scott keep up the good work.
I've had my share of posts sent to the bitbucket here,
some deserved, some not (I didn't think), but the bottom
line is this.
This place is *not* a publicly owned soapbox, but a
private facility provided through the good will of a private
party(ies). He(they) get to decide what is acceptable.
Period.
Get the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that's really necessary. Most of the time it's just common sense, why it was removed from the board.
you just have to remember, that a post will be removed for any one of these reasons:
it's offensive
it provides no usefull info to the people here
it's trying to sell or endorse somthing that the moderator doesn't aggree with
It's way out of the context of this website
You know, just common sense types of things, I remember Scott saying it once so I thought it would be usefull to remember.

Tough Guy think Umpire Scott real hip shooter. Almost all deleted threads are obvious as to why. Few that aren't obvious to us, are obvious to him. Common sense go long way on board. If Tough Guy can survive here, anybody can. Tough Guy think only factual items here not work. Most information given is individual opinions and is up to person asking question to take in all opinions and make best educated guess of their own. No facts...just educated opinions. Tough Guy say Umpire Scott do fine job of filtering. No want this job for self, no time for fishing. Thanks Umpire Scott for giving us a place to talk mighty walleye.
