View Full Version : looking to deal
hey all i am looking to deal for anyold broken rods and reels you might have. for the past few years i have been fixing ones that i pick up at local flea markets and actuions and i have been giveing them to kids who live close to fishing areas and really dont have a chance to make the money to buy their own. i will deal for these but i must warn you if you are like the flea markets and think broken rods and reels are worth alot i wont be interested. i dont make alot of cash and i am not willing to take from my family to get rods to fix. but any way thanks in advance dave
Dave,
Sounds great....I have quite a few rods I could donate. Why don't you post an address as to where I can send them....and I will send away....eventually....(busy!)

It's a wonderful thing you're doing, my hat's off to you. A few years ago, the local rod and gun club I was affiliated with had a "take a kid fishing" day. We contacted Zebco and they sent 25-30 rods with closed face spinning reels to use. We were able to purchase these at $5.00 each after the event. I bought a few and gave them away to the kids I had taken out fishing. The look in their eyes made it worth $10.00 ($50??) a rod. At $5 maybe even some of the less fortunate could afford to buy them for the kids. I suggest contacting Zebco, let them know what you're doing and you never know what they may offer. Just a thought.
