EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. -- As originally announced on its
web site last fall, www.walleyecentral.com is
launching "Walleye Central's Fantasy Angler Challenge
2001."
Fantasy players will choose three anglers each month,
March through October, from a list of 200 top pros from
the RCL (Operation Walleye), PWT (Professional Walleye
Trail), and the MWC (Masters Walleye Circuit)
professional walleye circuits. There is no cost for
participation by the anglers or fantasy players.
Players will be able to select their angler choices at
www.walleyecentral.com or by ballot at each of the
circuit's tournaments.
Both anglers and players will have three opportunities
to win prizes during each of the eight months of
competition. Prizes will be awarded according to s
points formula. A first place angler tournament finish
is valued at 50 points, descending to 50th place, valued
at one point.
Points will also accumulate on a monthly basis towards a
grand prize. The top pro from each circuit, as well as
the top three fantasy players, will win a one-week all
expense paid trip to a mystery walleye fishing
location. The trip's highlight will be a two-day event
with the pros competing in the ultimate angling
showdown, "America's Walleye Cup Tournament of
Champions." The pros will be partnered with the fantasy
player winners. All participants will be awarded an
array of prizes. The tournament is scheduled for
December 1 & 2.
Established in 1996 by Scott Golden of Fort Collins, CO,
www.walleyecentral.com is easily recognized as the
premier fishing Internet site, recording 7,000,000
inquiries in February alone. Golden refers to the web
site as: "more walleye fishing information than you can
handle."
Enhancing the fantasy angler promotion is another
Walleye Central innovation, the "Live Leaderboard."
Walleye Central's trailer and crew will be attending 22
major walleye events this year, sending tournament
results over its web site as they are happening.
Also complementing the web site is Walleye Central's
quarterly magazine, headed by newly appointed Editorial
Director, Bob "Kaz" Kaczkowski, retired Masters Walleye
Circuit Executive Director. Kaz stated, "Once again
walleyecentral.com is at the forefront of the walleye
scene."

Central's Marketing Director, at tel. 952-949-1109, fax
