I have a set of the Cabela's Guidewear. Gor-tex insulated.
My question is should these be dry cleaned or washed for
best results. The local dry cleaners didn't seem to know
much about them and I didn't want them ruined. If I wash
them do I use spray stuff for the spots that are very dirty?
Do I use liquid or powered soap? I see it says to tumble dry. I will hang and let dry. Just want to take care of them best way
possible as not to loose the water replentcy.

Check out the following link on taking care of your Goretex Guidewear.

I've washed my Guidewear several times using the powder type laundry soap in cold water with good results. I called Gore many years ago when I started washing my first goretex rain suit with liquid laundry soap and noticed that the suit was retaining water. I was instructed by the Gore rep to rewash my suit using powder laundry detergent and that took care of my problem.
Good Luck

Just purchased my 2nd pair. 1st pair is 6 years old and still going as tough as day one. Only problem I have is the belly pert of the bibs didnt grow with me. Any way I've washed mine in washer and drye all along as a matter of fact yopu should wash in cold water couple times before you wear. two reasons. 1)dont look like geek with new sneakers and 2) the dye in the color esp. red will rub of on seats of boat. Like new jeans. I hear the Bass Pro 100mph suit is nice too, but, like my wife. She been this good to me all these years why change now.
Lets catch some fish, have alot of fun, and make money doing it!!

One of the keys with any waterproof/breathable material is to make sure the soap is COMPLEATLY rinsed out. Run the rinse cycle three of four times to make sure. Tumble dry and spray with silicon spray to help the water bead up and shed.

I've had a set for 5 years now, Powdered soap cold/warm water tumble dry with low or no heat applied.(tumble drying will fluff the insulating material)I have also used the stain removing sprays(shout)without any problems.I've never apllied any sprays for waterproofing, but there is commercial sprays made specifically fo gortex, check at outdoor gear/camping shops that carry high end products featuring gortex materials.
