I've got a set of vehicle number decals, and my name decals, and I'm trying to decide whether to display them on my truck or not. I know its not the most important issue, but all the complaining lately about guys putting decals on their trucks has me a little spooked.

I'd like to know what the rest of the NPAA members are going to do, and also whats the opinions about this from the rest of you guys.

I think most of the posts are concerning the issue of putting on decals of companies that you're not getting paid by. I certainly understand your reluctance to put them on, but how bout putting the name on your motor and the truck decal on your truck? You paid for them and you're proud of your association, right? Put em on!

If someone thinks you're a wannabe by doing this, so be it. You do what you think is right.

For what it's worth, mine are on and I will keep them on. I'm not concerned whether someone thinks I should have them on or not. BTW: I've also got a "3" on my motor out of respect for the Intimidator. You choose the colors of your boat and truck, the motors you hang on the back... you do what you think is right with the display of decals as well.

Nobody gives the guy with an Polaris sticker the same beefs, do they?

Heheheh... Wheeeeeee Doggy! If putting your name and number on your truck has you spooked, then I sure hope your fishing against me. You would be EASY to psych out! (Wink!)

For gosh sakes, don't worry about what other people think! You put those decals on your truck, so us other members know who you are!

You get the decals for the motor automatically. I know you had to pay for the name and number for you truck, so put the dang things on, and drive around proudly.

Now, "Shut Up And Fish"! ;-)

Have a great day!

I've been thinking about this issue since a bunch of posts were listed a couple of weeks ago. I love to fish, period. So why can't I show it.How is it any different than someone who shells out $200 for a Jeff Gordon jacket or someone that has NASCAR sponsor decals on his/her back window? Are they a wannabe? Are they getting paid by those companies? Certainly not. They are just avid fans and supporters of the sport. Just as we are of ours. If one was to follow the logic of some of the objectors, then you had better remove the dealership decal off your vehicle and boat because you are certainly advertising for him and not getting paid for it. In reality you paid "him" a pretty good chunk of change so you can ride around and advertise for him. Some need to realize that fishing has evolved and continues to grow. I do not have sponsors but I show my support for the products on my vehicle. I do not fish a whole bunch of tournaments but my vehicle is recognized throughout the area and many times I have been held up at the boat landing conversing about this product or that.
So in a nutshell-STICK 'EM ON!
