does anybody know how i can downlaod my waypoints off my gps to put on another?

Sure,
Go to the Lowrance.com web site.
Download the gps software.
Obtain a GPS - pc interface cable and connect one end to the gps, and the other end to the pc comm port.
Set up the comm port per the directions. - enable the gps upload port in the gps setup screen - and click on the download button on the software, and save the informantion to the file of your choice on your pc.
Then, copy this file to a floppy disk - so that you have a removable hard copy.

You can also use your printer - or go through a word processor program and use cut and paste - to print out a paper copy.

Your unit has to able to use the mapcreate CD, if its a early unit it wouldn't work - problem with the download/upload interface. I had a early accumap unit and I couldn't get the computer to connect to the GPS so I had to send it in to get it upgraded, but you loose all your data when they do it.

The program you need from Lowrance is GDM16MS.EXE it will let you upload and download waypoints, plot trails, icons and routes. I don't recall if it comes on the MapCreate CD but I know that when you install the MapCreate CD onto your computer it will check your GPS (if you have it connected) for the current software version, then update it if its not.

Goldie - I have an older unit. Don't remember how old but its still a 5 channel.

Go to Eagles web site and you can order the software (comes on a floppy) and the cable. Its like $25. You can plug right in to your PC and then save your info. I didn't need to update my GPS at all. I couldn't get the downloadable software to work.

man now im really glad i got the new lcx15mt! what a breeze to operate. i can even do my own upgrades. just snap the mmc in the interface and go to the lowrance web site and download the software upgrade to the mmc and stick it in the unit and it does the upgrade itself!
