I'm going to the Mpls Sports Show on Wed and wonder what is new and worthwhile seeing?
OK, you guys who went yesterday must be up now, how about it?
Went Saturday for the day. You will have alot less people to contend with. Primarily the booths were so full it was impossible to get the attention of anyone, even the dealers we have dealt with in the past. This is the first year I have left empty handed (my bride bought a bunch of sweet smelling skeeter dope tho). There were not alot of innovations but the big plus, I think is the tackle dealers. There were many more lure vendors and larger percentage of vendor space (ie Joes, Capr's etc devoted to lures).
Boats were a yawner execpt for the portable boat/trailer (it folds in the middle, uses a simple U bolt to keep it from collapsing) that fits well behind a bike. Thatwas kind of neat but $$$. Imagine backing your sportster down the ramp at someplace and launching this sweetheart! Even better, there are alot of lakes with little or on access for a 'real' boat. Low water conditions have caused much of this.
A real shortage of RV's and 5th wheels but lots of pop-ups and pickups and accecories.
It's defintely worth the trip. Stop at CUB and get weekday discount certificates.
