I am planning a fishing trip for my family. a few are begginers and i am looking for a small upscale lodge with a staff that will be friendly to novices and begginers a like. Camp must have guides included in package, good food, large comfortable main lodge building and a scenic setting. Prefer off the track drive in. (wife refuses to take fly in small plane) here are the lodges that look appealing:
Totem
kesagamni
tetu
old postlodge
canada north lodge
happy landing lodge
k/o lodge
south bay lodge
anderson lodge
All Ontario. Looking for friedly relaxed setting. Thank you in advance for your comments. If you do not feel comfortable making comments on line, please e-mail me at ron3637@aol.com Ps. all comments held in confidence. Any other lodge recommendation appreciated as well.

My vote is for the Old Post Lodge at Lake St. Joseph. The fshing is fantastic. There are some really nice guides available for as many days as you like, and for a group they are happy to have 3 or 4 boats follow 1 guide to an area. They make shore lunch every day if you have a guide. The food there is great and they have a nice bar to relax in after dark when the bugs get bad. They do a nice job cleaning and freezing some eater size fish to go home. Trophy fish are CPR. A special permit is required to be on the lake and you have to be staying with one of the lodges to get one. That keeps traffic to a minimum. I am going again this summer with a group of relatives. We will have 4 boats with one adult and 2 teenagers in each boat. Last time we took these kids they had the time of their life. Be sure to buy a map when you get there, that water is huge.
