Folks:

I visited the JS Sport show in Milwaukee yesterday. I talked to 2 seperate charter captains that said this year will be great for 15"-18" walleye. They said that these fish were from a record spawn in 1999. Does this seem reasonable? I am questioning their anticipated growth rate. Any feedback is appreciated.

Go to www.dnr.stste.oh.us/odnr This is Ohio's Department of natural resources.Their predictions are there. The charter captains weren't far off.

Thanx for the link! I had assumed that it was "salesmanship", but heard the same story from two guys. That is an amazing growth rate, in my opinion...

Lund_Dude,

In Lake Erie the average growth of walleye the first three years averages around 6" per year. After that the growth rate slows down greatly, and they start to bulk up more. Good Fishing.
