I have a non fishing question, but hope you can help. I may be moving to Minnesota, and have heard all manner of conflicting stories about costs involved registering my Truck. The question is, what does it cost to tile and get plates for a 1996 pick up? Thanx!

Probably a lot more than what you pay where you now live. The fee is based on presumed value of the vehicle. I have a '96 Ford conversion van on the 150 chassis and I paid $280 to register this year.

I just now finished on-line purchasing of new MN tabs for my 98 K-2500 Silerado. Total came to $104.29 including a $1.79 handling fee. According to the Registration Application, my "vehicle license tab tax was reduced by $173.00 due to a new law". Gov. Jessie might be out of control most of the time, but he has gotten a few things right.
