Sue,
Lost your phone number so I was hoping that you could answer the questions here. I have three batteries in the boat. Two are hooked up parallel and they run accessories and a 12 volt trolling motor. The third battery is the starting battery. What charger should I get? My guess is a two banker and I should put one hook up on one of the two parallel batteries and one hookup on the starting battery. Is this right? I'll also be extending one of the leads to reach the battery and I'm pretty sure that I should use 12-14 guage. Is this right? What charger should I get? I want the best.

One last stupid question. What do you think would happen if I put two charger leads on the two batteries hooked in Parallel? I'm thinking blown fuses. Am I right?

I believe Sue is on vacation this week (if I remember right, she said something last week about being gone all week)...

I can't tell you which charger to get, but I can tell you I had the same question about batteries connected together and banks on a charger. Sue said because indvidual banks on their charger have separate grounds, the charger would not 'see' the other battery connected to the first if connecting a bank to each battery.

Not much help, but it's the best I can do.

I just asked her the same thing. I have 2 batteries in parallel for my troller, and a 2611 charger(2 bank). She said that since the batteries in parallel are essentially 1 large battery, I should hook both grounds to a single ground post, and both positives to a single post. Hope this answers your question.
